The Significance of Three Days

Discovering the significance of three days in biblical terms was a revelation in itself! Jesus promised that he would rebuild the temple in three days and the apostles understood what he meant when he was resurrected on the third day after his crucifixion. Once we understand this we start to see many more references to three days in dark places. Typified on such occasions as Jonah for three days in the belly of a whale or the child Jesus separated from his parent for three days in Jerusalem for example. I have included more examples below.
